ان فشل الحكومة لهم

The problem with our Government is not Democrats or Republicans, per se, but with the collective need to do whatever it takes to get and keep power. المشكلة مع حكومتنا ليست الديموقراطيين او الجمهوريين ، في حد ذاتها ، ولكن مع ضرورة الجماعي للقيام بكل ما يلزم لابقاء والحصول على السلطة. This never-ending opportunistic positioning on issues, with little regard for any who might suffer from the effects, fails all of "we the People" and the Government should be ashamed of itself...though we have a better chance of finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow than ever seeing sincere humility and embarrassment come from any of our Political Heroes in Washington. وهذا لا تنتهي ابدا الانتهازيه المواقع على القضايا ، مع ايلاء اعتبار يذكر لأي من قد يعاني من اثار ، لا للجميع "نحن الشعوب" ويجب على الحكومة ان تخجل من نفسها... وان كانت لدينا فرصة افضل لايجاد وعاء من الذهب في نهاية قوس قزح اكثر من اي وقت مضى لرؤية الصادق والتواضع والاحراج يأتي من أي من حياتنا السياسية والأبطال في واشنطن.

The political football that is Iraq is being as poorly handled as any issue in my memory, and our Warfighters and Veterans (those we should most concern ourselves with) are being failed on almost every level. السياسي لكرة القدم ان العراق هو ما يجري على الوجه ضعيف في اي مسألة في ذاكرتي ، ونحن warfighters والمحاربين القدامى (الذين ينبغي لنا ان نشغل انفسنا اكثر) يجري فشلت على كل المستويات تقريبا. I blame the President. اود القاء اللوم على الرئيس. I blame the Department of Defense. اود القاء اللوم على وزارة الدفاع. I blame Veterans Affairs. اود القاء اللوم على شؤون قدامى المحاربين. Most of all, I blame Congress. والأهم من كل شيء ، اود القاء اللوم على الكونغرس. While most of these issues with Soldiers and Veterans lie squarely in the lap of the DoD and the VA, Congress owns the lion's share of blame for not fixing this mess because they hold the checkbook and they aren't doing what needs doing: writing the damn checks. وفي حين ان معظم هذه القضايا مع الجنود والمحاربين القدامى تقع مباشرة في اللفه من وزارة الدفاع والتحالف والكونغرس وتمتلك حصة الأسد من اللوم لعدم تحديد هذا الطعام لانها تحمل دفتر الصكوك وأنها لا تفعل ما تفعل : كتابة اللعنه الشيكات.

Let's start with the New York Times piece, The Suffering of Soldiers : لنبدأ مع صحيفة نيويورك تايمز قطعة ، ومعاناة الجنود :

Several years into a pair of wars, the Department of Veterans Affairs is struggling to cope with a task for which it was tragically unready: the care of soldiers who left Afghanistan and Iraq with an extra burden of brain injury and psychic anguish. عدة سنوات الى زوج من الحروب ، وادارة شؤون قدامى المحاربين تكافح للتعامل مع المهام التي كانت ماساويه غير جاهز : رعايه الجنود من غادر افغانستان والعراق ، ما يشكل عبئا من إصابات الدماغ وآلام نفسية. The last thing they need is the toxic blend of secrecy, arrogance and heedlessness that helped to send many of them into harm’s way. وآخر ما يحتاجون اليه هو مزيج من السأم والسرية ، والغطرسه والغفله التي ساعدت على ارسال العديد منهم الى طريق الاذى.

Quick cheap shot at the President aside, the NYT's Editorial board is on to something. السريعه الرخيصه واطلقت النار على رئيس جانبا ، nyt للهيئة التحرير فيها على شيء. But, before we look at the rest of this "opinion" piece, let's pile on a few more things for emphasis. ولكن قبل أن نلقي نظرة على ما تبقى من هذا "الرأي" قطعة ، دعنا كومة على عدد قليل من التركيز لمزيد من الاشياء.

First, consider the now-very-forgotten story of Walter Reed and Building 18 and the suffering of Soldiers there. اولا ، النظر في غاية الآن - قصة منسيه - والتر ريد وبناء 18 ومعاناة الجنود هناك. Recall that President Bush promised a commission to review Military Health Care in the wake of that story, and a report from the so-called Dole-Shalala commission was issued . يذكر ان الرئيس الاميركي جورج بوش وعدت لجنة لاعادة النظر العسكري للرعايه الصحية في اعقاب تلك القصة ، وتقرير من دول ما يسمى لجنة شلالة - صدر. Anything implemented from that one yet? ان ينفذ اي شيء من احد حتى الآن؟ Not that I can find. لا استطيع ان تجد.

Consider as well the Ft. فضلا عن النظر في نهاية المباراة. Bragg barracks disaster and the standard issue gasps of shock and outrage from the guy who OWNS it to begin with: SecDef Gates himself. براج ثكنة الكوارث ومستوى القضية هيث من الصدمه والغضب من الرجل لانها تملك من يبدأ : secdef غيتس نفسه.

A cursory run through the news yesterday brings a story of Soldiers being cremated at a facility used for pets. It's no wonder people are screaming...a freaking pet crematorium being used for our fallen Heroes, and the Military isn't sure if this place is doing these cremations appropriately? تشغيل طريق سريع الانباء امس يجلب قصة من الجنود يجري محروق لاحد المرافق المستخدمة لحيوانات اليفة. انه لا غرابة ان الناس يصرخون... freaking الحيوانات الاليفه مكان احراق الجثث تستخدم لدينا أبطال سقطوا ، والجيش ليس متأكدا اذا كان هذا واضاف : في المكان المناسب الحرق؟ What the bloody hell is wrong with this bureaucracy? الداميه الجحيم ما هو الخطأ فى هذه البيروقراطيه؟

The President asked for the Iraq supplemental funding well over a year ago. وطلب الرئيس لتمويل تكميلي بالاضافة الى العراق قبل اكثر من عام. The Democrats have finally come up with a disaster in response, and in an op-ed this morning Alabama Rep. Jo Bonner details the bloat lying in wait within it. الديمقراطيون وأخيرا وضع والكوارث وردا على ذلك ، والبروتوكول الإختياري في صباح هذا اليوم - الطبعه الاباما Rep جو Bonner تفاصيل عن الكذب في الانتظار انفخ داخله. The bill is a joke and the Democrats are well aware the President will have no choice but to veto this trash and the Warfighters and Veterans will continue to wait. يأتي ذلك نكتة والديمقراطيون يدركون جيدا الرئيس لن يكون لها اي خيار سوى ان حق النقض هذا المهملات وwarfighters والمحاربين القدامى وستواصل الانتظار.

Congress was told by Adm. Mullen that the Army is almost out of money. Of course, Harry Reid could give a flip , given that he's already said it's no big deal [subscription], but if the Army runs out of money how can anyone expect the Soldiers and Veterans to get the care they need? وكان المؤتمر adm. مولين قال ان الجيش تقريبا من اصل المال. بطبيعة الحال ، هارى ريد يمكن ان يعطي الوجه ، نظرا لأنه سبق ان قال انه ليس صفقة كبيرة [اشتراك] ، ولكن اذا كان الجيش تنفد من المال فكيف يمكن لاي شخص نتوقع من الجنود والمحاربين القدامى للحصول على ما يحتاجونه من رعايه؟ They're about to lose their paychecks...how are they going to get treatment for the suffering the original Times piece above suggests they so desperately need? انهم على وشك ان تفقد صكوك الرواتب... كيف هم ذاهبون الى الحصول على علاج لمعاناة الاصلي الاوقات قطعة اعلاه توحي انها بحاجة ماسة اليها؟

Consider the last passage in the NYT piece: النظر في الماضي المرور في قطعة nyt :

Fortunately, the solutions are clear: more money for mental health services, closer tracking of suicides and more aggressive preventive efforts, more efficiency at managing veterans’ treatment and more help for their families. ولحسن الحظ ، فان الحلول واضحة : مزيد من المال لخدمات الصحة العقليه ، وتتبع اوثق من حالات الانتحار وبذل جهود وقائية اكثر عدوانيه ، واكثر كفاءه في ادارة المحاربين القدماء والعلاج ومزيد من المساعدة لأسرهم. If this country gave back to wounded troops even a fraction of the commitment and service that it has received from them, they will be well cared for. واذا كان هذا البلد وألقى عودة الى جرح جندي وحتى جزء من الالتزام والخدمة التي تلقاها منها ، وسيتم بالاضافة الى الرعايه.

Why is this so hard for Congress to comprehend? لماذا هذا المؤتمر لذلك من الصعب على الفهم؟

In the piece titled "The Costs of War" from the WaPo, dollars and cents make up the whole discussion about Iraq. في قطعة واحدة تحت عنوان "تكاليف الحرب" من wapo ، سنتا ودولار وتشكل الجامعة نقاش حول العراق. With all of Schumer and Reid's ranting and raving...and calling President Bush "King George"...nowhere is there a mention of what MORE the Army can do about the problems it's Warfighters and Veterans face were these clowns to draft a bill the President can actually sign . Schumer مع كل من وريد للالاهتياج والضجيج... ويدعو الرئيس بوش "الملك جورج" فى اى مكان... هل هناك ذكر لأكثر ما يمكن ان يفعله الجيش حول المشكلات التي تواجه انه warfighters والمحاربين القدامى وكانت مواجهة هذه المهرجون لاعداد مشروع قانون الرئيس يمكن ان تؤدي فعلا الى التوقيع. They are clearly more concerned with the constituencies they can buy off...and with shoring up majorities and expanding them. من الواضح انها اكثر مع الدوائر المعنية ويمكن من شراء... وحتى مع مسانده الاغلبيه وتوسيع نطاقها. They are there to do the people's business, not muck up our lives and CERTAINLY not to destroy the lives of our Soldiers and their families, yet that is exactly what they continue to do. انهم هناك على ان تفعل الأعمال الشعبية ، وليس الوحل حتى حياتنا وبالتأكيد ليس لتدمير حياة جنودنا وعائلاتهم ، ومع ذلك فان هذا هو بالضبط ما انها لا تزال تفعل.

They fail us all. فشلت جميعا.
